My Dive Movies

All right, my embedded video broke so for now I’ve embedded the youtube videos into the pages. You can also view them at youtube.

Rookery Madness — This is the first underwater movie I made. I made this with Adobe After Effects. I shot the video clips using my poor little 2 megapixel camera and used After effects to double the size of the clips. I like using After Effects because it is loaded with Photoshop tools and functions, and does a great job of scaling up video. I was actually able to use Levels to affect some color adjustments, which is very different than using standard video color tools. My version of After Effects is so old that it will no longer run on any of my newer computers. Now I have Final Cut but I’m afraid I’ll have to read up on how to use the color adjustment tools.

Rookery Revisited — Second in the “Rookery Madness Series. This is starring Jen and of course the Rookery Pups. These were a lot of fun to make.

Life in the Shallows — This is a nice movie. I’m cruising through shallow water at Catalina, there is some nice surge so you can see the various fish weaving back and forth through the kelp, revealing an interesting rhythm to their activity. I received one very nice comment on youtube so I guess this was well received.

Underwater video of Lions Head Reef at Catalina Island. Lion’s Head Reef — This is at Lions’ Head Reef at Catalina. This movie is shot with my newer Fuji E900 and I put it together in Final Cut instead of AfterEffects.
